Ella and Milo love looking at the night sky, but one evening they spot something unusual a bright, swirling picture of Jupiter in Ella’s space book. Curious, they flip the pages together and discover that Jupiter isn’t made of land like Earth at all. It’s mostly swirling hydrogen and helium, and deep inside hides a tiny rocky core. That surprises Milo, who imagined standing on it like a normal planet.
The biggest surprise comes when Ella turns the page and sees diamond rain falling inside the giant planets. Milo’s eyes widen as they imagine diamonds forming deep inside Jupiter and Saturn. Finally, the kids learn why Uranus and Neptune are called ice giants. They contain elements like oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon that turn to ice far from the Sun.
