Lily loves drawing with her crayons, but one day she notices something strange: the Statue of Liberty in her picture looks green, even though it’s supposed to be made of metal. Max joins her, just as confused, and together they start wondering why metal sometimes changes colour.
Curious to see this “colour magic” in real life, the kids try a simple experiment with vinegar and old pennies. As the pennies slowly change, they realise that oxygen has been busy again. Later, when Lily slices an apple and sees it turn brown, she and Max immediately recognize the same little artist at work.
